Company Improvements & Growth
Originally Farmers Cooperative Company, (now Frontier Cooperative Company) established itself in 1915 in Brainard, NE. It stayed as a single location until 1969 when it merged with Dwight Farmers Coop, but kept the name Farmers Cooperative Co.

Frontier's growth and acquisitions continued for several decades, in 1990 Farmers Cooperative Co changed it's name to Frontier Cooperative Co. Since the establishment of the Frontier Cooperative Company brand, Frontier has continued to experience growth and acquistions and to date, Frontier owns and operates 13 grain and agricultural locations with the main office located in Brainard, NE.
Brainard
  • 1915 - Farmers Cooperative Co. created with one location in Brainard.
  • 1976 - Farmers Cooperative purchased Farmers Union Coop Oil Association of Brainard.
  • 1977 - The new concrete elevator was built in Brainard.
  • 1980 - Two annexes added to new concrete.
  • 1990 - Company name changed to Frontier Cooperative Company after merger.
  • 1998 - Original wood elevator from 1915 removed.
Bellwood
  • 1997 - Frontier Coop merged with Bellwood Coop.
David City/Yanka
  • 1984 - David City Elevator facilities leased by Farmers Cooperative.
  • 1985 - David City Elevator facilities purchased by Farmers Cooperative.
Dwight
  • 1969 - Farmers Cooperative Co. merged with Dwight Farmers Coop.
Fremont
  • 2002 - Frontier Coop purchased the Fremont location from Peavey Grain Company.
Garrison
  • 1984 - Garrison Elevator facilities leased by Farmers Cooperative.
  • 1985 - Garrison Elevator facilities purchased by Farmers Cooperative.

  • 1998 - Frontier Coop merged with Ceresco Coop.
Howells
  • 2007 - Frontier Coop's Feed Department merged with Verings Feed Service
Mead
  • 1990 - Farmers Cooperative Co. merged with Farmers Union Coop of Mead.
North Bend
  • 2002 - Frontier Coop purchased the North Bend location from Peavey Grain Company.
Silver Creek
  • 2002 - Frontier Coop purchased the Silver Creek location from Peavey Grain Company.
Schuyler
  • 1999 - Frontier Coop purchased Wagner Mills in Schuyler.
Weston
  • 1990 - Farmers Cooperative Co. purchased Scoular of Weston.
