Janessa's upbringing in Indiana immersed her in both animal and farming aspects of agriculture. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science with a biotechnology focus from Kansas State University in 2013. Her academic journey continued at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), culminating in a Master's degree in 2018, with a specialization in ruminant nutrition. Her research centered on innovative corn residue harvest methods and their impact on cattle digestibility.

Janessa and her husband, Jess, now reside in St. Paul, where they manage a Kiko goat herd. Her mission is to assist producers in achieving their livestock goals and enhancing their financial performance. Janessa enjoys horseback riding, the outdoors, and spending quality time with her family.
